If you contact me and do not proceed to an appointment with me, I will delete your details. Once you become a client I will hold and store your information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidelines.

Privacy Notice

The GDPR brought in new legal protection for personal information from May 2018. This tells you what personal information I gather via my website, why and what your rights are.

The Purpose of processing Client Data

I hold and use client data in order to provide you with the best possible treatment options, support and advice. In order to give professional reiki and crystal & gemstone treatments, I will need to gather and retain potentially sensitive information about your health. I will only use this information for ongoing treatments and associated recommendations concerning aspects of your health and wellbeing.

Lawful Basis for holding and using Client Information

The lawful basis under which I hold and use your information is for my legitimate interests i.e. my requirement to retain the information in order to provide you with the best possible treatment options and advice.  As I will hold special category data (i.e. health related information), the Additional Condition under which I hold and use this information is for me to fulfil my role as a Reiki Master Teacher and Crystal & Gemstone Healing Therapist.

What information I hold and what I do with it

In order to give professional treatments, I will need to ask for and keep information about your health. I will only use this information in relation to your treatments and any advice I give as a result of your treatment. The information to be held is:

  • Health-related/medical information (which I will take from you at first consultation);
  • Treatment details and related notes (which I will take after each consultation).

I only keep paper records which are kept in a locked filing cabinet to which only I have the key. All emails, website enquiries and text correspondence are only accessible to me via my iPhone and laptop (emails and website enquiries only). Only I hold the passcode for these.

I will NOT share your information with anyone else (other than as required for legal process) without explaining why it is necessary and obtaining your explicit consent.

How Long I Retain Your Information for

Legally, I will retain your information for 8 years for adults and 12 years (or up to the age 25) for children. For GDPR purposes, any patient aged 16 years or under is deemed to be a Child.

Your data will not be transferred outside the EU without your consent.
